photo size info please

My parents are getting their photo taken in Mysore. According to the photo specs http://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-gree...-requirements/

the photo is 50mm x 50mm (2 inches by 2 inches).

The photos taken in Mysore are always 40mm by 50mm. I am not sure how big issue this is. ?

Is there some one measuring the last 10mm. ?

It needs to be 50X50, if the photo is not per requirements, you may be asked to go back and get per requirement.
There shld be some studios who works visa photos.... you may get some info for such studios from local s/w company HR.
