Passport number incorrect on visitor visa 156/157

We've got VISITOR-VISA appointment for September for my mother-in-law. Unfortunately we took the HDFC DD and the appointment with incorrect passport number. Especially the person helping us entered first letter B instead of A. Now she is going to attend an interview and how it would effect her VISA chances. How should she explain the same to Embassy Officer. Please advise us. Thank you.

I have given 3 options.

1. Edit the printed 156 form(change B to A)

2. Attend the interview and explain what happened.

3. Take a new appointment.

Looks like first 2 options are better.

Try calling vfs customer support and get it fixed.
