My friend needs some information regarding one of the parent's name printed in the passport against the one in School Certificate. His mom had two different names like short and long. Short name is entered in his passport as well as in GC's I-485 biographic application form. He wanted to bring his parents to US and need to apply for passports. Is it advisable to request her to get Passport with Short name or long name?. Since her certificates had long name, and if she gets the passport with the long name, Will it be a problem for him to sponsor for VISITOR visa for his mom?
Does he need to apply for new passport with the long name and reapply I-485's biographical information?
