visa issuance fee DD question

My parents plan to take the visa issuance fee DD of 2400Rs from ICICI.
The immihelp web site says that , they need to write their name, passport number, date of birth with pencil on the back of these DDs.
Also seems like they need to keep the receipt they get after taking DD.
can you clarify on these as I didnt understand whether this signing on the back and keeping the receipt things apply for visa application DDs they got from HDFC earlier or are they for visa issuance fee?

Keeping DD Receipt is optional (I did not keep it), but good to keep it.
No need to sign on the back of the DD but write name, passport, dob, interview date and time.
you need to do above for the DD of issuance fee

Bank will need to write their name, passport number, interview date & time, date of birth with pencil on the back of these DDs.

Bankers check

Is bankers check acceptable in lieu of DD for issuance fee? My father-in-law got a bankers check from HDFC accidentally. I know personal checks are unacceptable.

Any advise is welcome

You should get demand draft to avoid any trouble and hassles.
