  • hi from australia! guys cud ya comment on this pls?!!!!

    hello friends. I am avin and i am an indian national currently livin in adelaide, australia. well i am planning to apply for a B2 for a month, to meet my sis (H4) and her hubby(wil get his Green C soon) i was the only one who didnt attend their marriage in india.

    I have been here just over an year. I am on a student visa and im doing a second master degree (got my first one in UK). I have got more than an year to go.

    Since im a TCN i know its difficult but i cant go to india just to apply for the visa. i cant afford the tickets and moreover i will be coming bac to australia and not return 2 india.

    i would request all you experienced guys to give me tips/guidance on my case. what specific docs i can get from uni, work (part time)..and things like that?!!.
    thanks to you guys in advance.

    Since you are in the middle of your study course , you may have a good chance at the visa. You will need to show evidence of your enrolment at the
    college, evidence that the
    college is closed for the period, letter from your part time employer and
    salary paid, salary slip if any, and enough funds in the bank for the trip.
    They may ask about your future plans which should include returning to
    India after your course. You must be able to show some ties to India (job prospects, family).

        Yes, evidence of paid fees will carry weight.

        About sponsorship; YOu must note that sponsorship is not mandatory;
        it is one of the two ways you can prove to the consular that the trip will be paid for. The other way is to show that you have enough funds of your own.
        Sponosrship has negative impact in two ways; first it clearly shows to the consular that you are not strong financially. Secondly, the consular may think, depending on other factors that you may want to stay back in the US with the help of your sponsor to earn more money. So it is advisable always to show your own funding for the trip as much as possible.

        Do not mention that you wish to be a permanent resident of australia.
        It might also be interpreted as an intention to stay back in US.

        Just say you will go back to India after you complete your studies.
