  • Difficult times - my mom is alone - please HELP.

My parents came to USA two times and both times they came on only
one year visa. First time they came and left USA within 6 months
and when they came second time on 6 month I-94, I applied for
extension for 6 months and it got denied. They left USA after
15 days of extension denial notice arrived.

Now, my father passed away two months back and I am planning
to get my mother here again to USA. I am really worried and
confused on what to do. I really appreciate if some one can
    shed some light on this:

I applied for my US citizenship last week. I maybe getting
my citizenship done by December/Jan-07 as per the current stats.

Assuming that my citizenship will be done in 4/6 months and also
going by the current Visa appointment dates in India only after Feb/March, what should I do for my mother's visa?

    1. Should I ask her to try for visitors visa in coming months?
advantage: if she gets visa, i can apply for her green card
after she come here.. or if she gets multiple she can keep
    coming..
[if her visa gets rejected, is it going to be a RED flag for her GC application?]

2 As her extension got denied last time, her chances of
getting B2 visa is very less. In that case, wait till I get
citizenship and process her GC when she is in India.

I really really appreciate on your advise..

    Thanks in advance.

#1. [if her visa gets rejected, is it going to be a RED flag for her GC application?]
No. GC application will be evaluated on its own merit and prior rejections will have no bearing. I know of many cases where F1/B1 was rejected and they still got GC on H1. US govt. will not hold back on an immediate relative of US Citizen.

#2. This will anyway be your default option. Give visitor visa a shot, if she gets it fine, otherwise you always have the GC route to fall back upon.

      apply for B1/B2 first.

From my understanding people can't not apply for their family with a visa or green card, they must be a citizen of us. But if I would I will apply for her B1/B2 first, then I will try to see if there are any ways I can apply for her green card later when she's in India.
