Can parents go with copy of my approval notice

Hello
My H1 visa was expired on June30, 2006 and petition for extension was filed and approved and I received the approval notice. However, there is no visa stamped in my passport.
My parents are going for visitors visa at chennai consulate.
My question is whether it is safe for my parents to go with my approval notice instead of stamped visa in my passport. Will iot adversely affect their chances of getting visa
