Docs to be submitted before interview??

Hi,
My parents Visa interview is in Mid Sept, do they have to submit their documents 5 days prior to their interview to the VFS?
They had already submitted their Application forms, and fees.

I will be sending the Sponsor docs to them.
What else do they have to submit, also do they have to confirm their appmt 10 days in advance?

Any help will be appreciated

Submitting docs in 5 days advance is applicable to Mumbai consulate only. Which consulate your parents are going?
