B1/B2 Help

My parents got 1 year B1/B2 multi visa.At the port of entry(Airport) they got 6 months to stay.If they stay in U.S. for those 6 months(or less) and then leave a country ,is there any time frame for how long they need to be out U.S. before they can return back in U.S. since they originaly got 1 year multy entry B1/B2 visa???
In the other hand,could my parents stay for 6 months(or less), then leave the U.S. for 1 day and then return back for another 6 months???

There is no hard rule on this, generally it is good to keep 6 mnths gap (for tourism) but can come at anytime and shld be ready to explain reason for early returns
