Documents to VFS .. appointment on SEP 20. PLS HELP

Hi,

1) We paid required fees in HDFC.
2) Got online appointment for both my parents.
3) I prepared all sponsor documents and sent to my parents.
4) My parents are ready with Visitor documents.

My question...in some of the posts i see we need to send
documents to VFS in advance. What does that mean ? Should i send
156/157 and all other supporting documents to VFS office in india ?
I'm confused. i havent sent any document to VFS office.

Someone Please explain. If i have to. Please list the documents.

The answer to this question depends upon when you applied for an appointment and what regulations were in effect at that time.

Currently, everyone is required to mail documents to VFS at least 5 business days in advance of the appointment date, if not the appointment stands cancelled.

However different regulations may have been in effect when you booked their appointment. Refer closely to the documentation that VFS provided when you booked the appt to see if they make any reference to the mailing of documents to them. If in doubt, call the service center immediately and find out. Your documents need to go out today by FEDEX Overnight or something similar if you need to send them.

My parents went for Chennai consulate recently for their interview. They did NOT mail any documents in advance. They took all the documents with them on the day of interview. For chennai consulate, you don't have to do anything in advance.

I have read in some of the posts that Mumbai consulate has this requirement that documents need to be submitted 5 days in advance.

Which consulate are your parents going to?
