  • B2 - Visitor Visa - Tickets & Health insurance required?

    Hi all,

My parents have an appointment in mid October at the New Delhi embassy for visitor visas.

Do they need to buy air tickets and health insurance before the appointment and carry it with them for the interview? Or is it OK to tell the consular that they'll buy tickets and health insurance once they are granted the Visas?

Also, is it necessary for me to send the affidavit of support (I-134) to them, if they can show sufficient financial resources on their own (even more than I would be able to show on the I-134)? I do have a letter issued from my company, verifying my employment & salary (I'm on an L-1B visa). This letter ALSO states that my accomodation is paid for by my company (apart from salary) and also that my parents tickets would also be paid for by my company (in lieu of tickets I get periodically to visit India).

Is the above letter from my company & my parents' financial records sufficient, or should I still send the I-134?

    Thanks

I can answer the air tickets and health insurance question. They need not make all these arrangement ahead. If asked, they can say that they will buy the tickets and insurance upon the issuance of the visa.

      1. No need to buy the health insurance before the interview. They can say they will buy it once they get visa and ready to travel
      2. No need to buy the tickets but it would be good to have itinerary for the round trip (just block the tickets)
      3. If you are not sponsoring the trip… no need to send I134
      4. Ask your parents to carry all the letters that you got from your company
