  • Visitor Visa for Canada

    Hi all,

    My parents were here (USA) on visitor visa. I am planning to take them to canada for visiting few places.
    Can someone suggest
    1) what is the procedure for this when applying for visitor visa - I am GC holder so I don't need visa. while filling the application where should I mention that I am sposoring them.
    2) what documents should I carry while taking them for Visa.

    We applied for our-in-laws 4 months back and visa was rejected saying they didn't show ties back in India. This time I want to be careful.

    Please Guide me
    Thanks in Adavnce.

    Actually, the best thing always to do is apply for the canada visa in India before leaving for the US. This is because the local embassy staff is familiar with the conditions in India where as the canada embassy staff in US is not,
    so the likelihood of denial is more.

    Now that they are here;
    No need to show you are sponsoring for a short canada trip. Anyone visiting US is expected to carry enough cash for
    a brief visit to canada. They should show enough cash of their own;
    maybe a receipt for travel cheques obtained in India or just say they have
    USDs in cash.
    I do not know what ties they have in India; children, job, business;
    if they have evidence of that with them, it will help.
