Reschedule a appt. with two people in same appt.

Hello Friends, I am trying to take an appointment for my IN-LAWS. I have entered all the info in DS 156/157 applications and just saved them. I am trying to look for date in between Oct'06 and Dec'06. I am continously trying to find an earlier date.

1. What is good time to check for these dates ? I mean do the cancellations show up only at the consulate operating hours.. i.e IST timings ?
2. Say I see a date available in Nov, does it matter if it was a single person or two persons slot in the same appointment ?

Do anyone took an earlier date while trying to see an earlier date.

1) I have read/heard that the best time to check is between mid night and 5AM eastern time.
2) Once you add the second applicant to the appointment, then you go to the page where you select the date. If there was an opening for just one person, that will not even show up on your screen since you have 2 applicants in the appointment. Only when you have two openings at the same time on the same day, that will show up on your screen. But, when you click on 'check appt availability' link on the bottom on the VFS home page, it shows all openings whether there is room for 1 or 2 or more applicants.

Jaya, thanks for the inputs. Yes it worked.. I was trying continuously starting 7 pm PST and finally at around 10:30 PM PST I got earlier date for my in laws. I got new appointment date in dec 1st week 2006 where we are expecting for.

Some observations:
1. "Appointment Availability" links shows available earliest appointment for selected language. It doest tell if its a single slot appointment or multi slot (i.e multiple people on same appointment)

If you are trying to take an appointment where there are two or more applicants if there are two slots empty on that date then only it will show up.

So if you are trying appointment for multiple people dont try for available date from " Click here for an estimate of current availability of visa interview appointments".

Its better trying from "Retrieve/ Modify a saved application" and once you open the saved application continue finding earliest date at that point.

So simple, if you are looking for a earlier date ... Keep checking .. patience wins.... Wish you everyone all the best with your visa appointments... Vagic

Congratulations for being able to prepone your appt. Did you technically 'pre-pone' or did you take a 'new appointment'?

Could you please tell which consulate and which language so that everyone knows when to look for the dates they are looking for.
