Adding a family member in Visa appt

Hi, My father has received his passport but my mother has not. Is it possible to get a Visa appointment date for my father and then add my mother later when she receives her passport (but obviously before Visa date itself)? Thanks.

You may or may not get an opening for your mother on exactly the same date and at the same time as your father's appt. If your parents must come to USA very soon, another choice is for your parents to go for appointments at different times - and if asked - they can say that they couldn't get an appt on the same day and hence had to appear for the interview separately.

Thanks Jaya. I meant whether I can add my Mom to same appointment as Dad's (joint appointment), but from your answer, and other threads on this forum, I think it is not possible. If I have to get a joint appointment, both have to apply together. Otherwise it will be like two independent appointments. Thanks.
