Maximum Validity for B2?

Hi,

My L1 visa is being process and I got to know that I cannot take my mother on L2. And i have to take her on B2. I know that validity of B2 visa is from 3 months to 10 years. But what I wanted to know is the maximum duration that she can stay on any entry. My mother is totally dependent on me and she cannot stay alone in India.

Any information in this regard is highly appreciable.

The duration one can stay on a B2 is stamped at entry and it varies depending on the purpose of your visit. For parents visiting their children
they usually stamp it for 6 months, not more. But you may extend her stay
while in US. And remember; Even if she gets a 10 yr B1/B2 , she will still have to spend 5-6 months in India between two visits. If she does not
give this gap between 2 visits, she may be stopped at entry for trying to
use her visitor visa for a permanent stay.
