Regarding visa issuance fee

Hi , I and my wife are going to be interviewed next month at Mumbai consulate. Prior to interview I have to send certan documents to VFS Mumbaiatleast 5 days ago.My question is whether the visa issuance draft for Rs. 2400/- is to be sent to VFS alongwith the other documents or it is to be carried to the consulate at the time of interview. Request an early reply from the guys attended recently at US Consulate Mumbai.

Yes, you need to send that in advance.

My cousin took my parents documents along with visa issuance fee to submit to Mumbai VFS office, and they returned the visa issuance fee DD to him saying that my parents need to carry that at the time of interview.

One would pay the visa issuance fee only after the visa is issued. Hence, logically, I think you don't have to submit it in advance. But, when you go to submit your documents, you may take "ALL" the documents and let them take whatever is needed.

Hi Jaya, Thanks for the reply.The VFS, Mumbai also directed me by e-mail to bring the draft of rs. 2400/- in person at the time of interview.The rules have changed recently for Mumbai VFS. All aspirants may please note. Sanjitkumar

Sending the docs to consualte in advance applies only to Mumbai consulate
