  • Sponser from Son in India for MIL

My MIL(my wife's mother) is going to the interview on Sept 25 coming monday. She is a widow and stays with her son. She has got another unmarried daughter studying in college. To show strong ties to India, in I-156 we have put her son name to sponser her. What all documents her son in India needs to provide her to sponser. He has got a CA documnet giving his net value to 85 lakhs. MIL and son have a joint account with good avg. balance. My MIL self asset value would also be equal to 95 lakhs(properties and shares).

Right now, we are planning to have the following docs from her and her son.

Covering letter from my MIL( stating she will come back) , I-156 , I-157, invitation letter, photo , MIL son's net value from auditor, her net value from auditor, Affidavit from MIL's son, Affidavit from MIL, their bank accounts, share statements, sons family photo in India, my marriage certificate( to prove relationship) , my wife's Birth certificate ( to prove relationship), unmarried daughters(my wife sister) college photo in India.

Also, what all documents I need to send. Invitaton letter, Employee verifications letter, pay studs, W-2 forms, bank statement and letter from bank, I-134 tellng stating I will take care of her stay and travel within US.

Since you are not sponsoring the trip, you don't need to send anything except the invitation letter and the birth certificate of your wife.

Your BIL and MIL have enough assets in India. Do they also have enough liquid cash to pay for the trip? The trip alone would be no more than 1.5 lakhs, but it would be advisable to show 10-20 lakhs in cash.
