Father stayed 2 mon and mom stayed 5mon in last visit.

My parents got Visa in last year Septemper and came to USA on October, My father stayed for 2 months and my mother stayed for 5 months. Unfortunately they lost their passports and now they are going for the Visa again in next month.

My question is what should they tell when visa officer asks about why did you stay for only 2 months and why did you stay for 5 monhts?

Can some one please help...

That's no problem. Any one can stay for however long they like, max up to the end of authorized stay.
