My in laws went to interview on 21st sep 2006 at the chennai consulate and got the visa. The interview was in malayalam. I could not get them group appointment, but could get individual appointments at the same time. And the VO allowed them to have combined interview.
I prepared all the documents as mentioned at this site. Also incorporated some suggestions from various people on the forums. Arranged the documents in 3 folders. One for all the applications forms (Passport, DS-156, DS-157, I-134, etc), second one for supporting documents of my in laws (ownership papers, bank statements, photogrpahs etc), and third one for my supporting documents (job verification letter, bank statements, paystubs, passport copies etc). Both of them carried separate sets.
VO did not look at folder 2 and 3.
My wife is pregnant and we did not mention it anywhere and the VO did not ask that question.
I have been in USA for the last 9 years on H1B and my wife joined me here this year (H4).
Also my FIL's sister is a NUN working in USA (she is a green card holder and been here for last 26 years).
