I have recently applied and been granted a b2 visa for 10 years. Does anyone know if this applies to a calender year, and, after 6 months stay, when can I return. What are the guide lines please help.

A 10 year multiple entry B1/B2 visa means you can travel in and out of US
multiple times for the next 10 years. And your purpose of visit, as you will have to describe on each entry, should always be
within the scope of a B1.B2 visa. What I mean is you cannot say to the officer that you have come to study or to work or to settle down while entering on a B1.B2. You will be stopped and sent back if you say any of this.
You will be given a card I-94 at entry stamped with an expiry date
that will tell you how long you can stay in US. Usually they stamp it
for 6 months but can be less depending on what you say to the officer
your purpose of visit is. Also the card will be stamped either B1 or B2
depending on your purpose.
You can extend this stay in US or change status to some other
visa categories.
And you must maintain a good distance between 2 visits depending on your purpose. ( casual visitors- 5-6 months gap; business- can be a lot less ).
