  • sponsoring younger brother

    Hi,

I am sponsoring my 26 year old brother for tourism. He freelances in India so has never filed tax returns.Do you think he might have problem at the time of interview? If yes, please suggest a solution.

    Thanks

If he is single, the chances are very slim.
The most important factor in a tourist visa is to show ties to India, which will compel him to return after the trip. These are mainly, occupational and family ties.

If your brother is single, he has neither of the two ties (no stable job, no stable income, no family to come back to) plus he is showing sponsorship from you which goes against him.( shows he cannot even afford his own trip and he has someone in US who may help him settle there.)

A visa may be possible if he goes in relation to his work.
Please provide some idea of his area of work, any major organizations
he freelances for, a rough idea of his income, financial status in India,
and if he has visited any foreign country before.
