  • Parents got 10 year multiple entry visa

First of all, i would like to thank immihelp.com for the effort they are taking in maintaining this site. This is really a wonderful site and i completly followed it for my parents visa process. Yesterday Oct 3rd, they got 10 year multiple entry visa
Visa officer was a nice old lady itseems, who was smiling all the time. That put my dad at ease and he could answer all the questions confidently.
    Questions asked :
    1. Which city you are going in US ?
    2. Where do you plan to stay ?
    3. How many children you have and where are they ?
    4. What do you do ?
    5. Where does your son-in-law work ?
    6. Is your daugher working ?
7.Who is the sponser ? (I was the sponsorer, and at this point she asked my dad to show sponsers documents. She only checked I-134 form and the letter to consulate, which i prepared very well with bulleted points as to why they will go back to india, etc.,) None of my parents documents were checked.

Thats it, she smiled and said, go and enjoy your visit to US, i am giving you 10 year multiple entry visa.
My advice is prepare the documents very well, In my case i prepared two files. Sponsers documents and Visitors documents. Both were neatly arranged and i put tabs for easy navigation..I also prepared some 54 interview questions and took mock up interviews for my parents. This built lot of confidence in them...
I am very happy today that all our hard work paid off..
Good luck to all those who are applying.

    Congratulations!!!

Can you please send me the copy of the "letter to consulate" for reference?
Also, please send me the check list for all documents you prepared (if you have any) and the interview questions that you prepared.

    thanks in advance.

List of documents i sent are as follows :
      Sponsers Documents :
      1. I-134 form, 2 one for each applicant (notraised)
      2. Letter to consulate
      3. Invitation letter to parents
      4. Employment verification letter (from your current working place)
      5. Letter from the bank (Letter should show, date account opened, current balance, avg balance for the past 1year/6months/3months)
(I sent a letter showing avg balance for the past 3 months)
      6. Bank statements (Send some 4 months)
      7. Pay stubs (Send Some 4 months)
      8. W2 forms (I sent two as i have only two)
      9. Copies of passport (If you are sponsering for your in-laws, then copies of ur spouse too..)
      10. Originial Birth Ceritificate
      11. Original Marriage Certificate.
      12. I-94 copy

Visitors Documents my dad prepared :
      1. D-156, D-157 forms of both the parents
      2. HDFC original receipts
      3. Original passports and Passport copies of both the parents
      4. Letter to Consulate (from the visitor)
      5. Proof of affidavit of return
      6. Property affidavit (My father got this from a consultant... This generally gives a summary of property they have in india)
      7. All the property papers, listed in the above affidavit
      8. Some family pictures, showing the ties back to india.. like brothers/sisters, old parents etc.,

I basically prepared two diff. files one for sponsers documents and one for visitor documents.. Visitors documents, most of them my father filled, since i don't have the required documents here.. but do send them the index page and arrange them in tabs...

I am also attaching the interview questions which i compiled from this site.

forsite, I sent only one employment letter and one bank verfication letter for both the parents. I think that should be enough as both the parents went toghether for the interview.
My father took all the original property documents to the embassy. It is advisable to prepare a property affidavit and also take the original property documents.
mm123, I am sorry to hear that your parents visa got rejected. But there is always a next time. I am posting the proof of return affidavit format.

                    neon,

I don't see any problem with the fact that your father stayed only 3weeks in his last visit. It is a strong point for you that he visited US once and returned back in time. Ask him to concentrate on strong ties back to india, for eg. he must be having a clinic, property, old parents etc., It will be useful if he can prepare a property affidavit and affidavit of return of proof.
Also, mentioning short duration of stay in I-134 form will be helpful.
                    hope this helps.

                        affidavit

I am confusing about both structes of affidavit and coverletter.in immihelp the bulliton points are in coverletter..and in some posts..the sponser is sending cover letter on behalf of parents.I am worring about the points that i have to mention..as some experienced that VO reads that care fully...

                        any suggestions are appreciated

                          entry after getting visitor visa

Can any one tell me if there is any time limit on entering USA after you get a US visa. (like do you have to travel within 3 or 6 months in case you got 10 year multiple entry)

                          thanks
