Question about E-Ticket

Hi,
My parents got visitor visa and I booked the ticket for them from Chennai to SFO. So far i have only the E-Ticket.
Is it necessary to have the actual ticket in hand while starting from Chennai. The agent says it is not necessary in Delhi airport. Does anyone know about Chennai airport?

E-ticket is fine at all Indian international airports.
