          Cannot prepone using reschedule link

Try cancelling the appointment and creating it again. It works!! There are dates available even in october!!

But remember if you have already cancelled once, then if you cancel the 2nd time, the receipt is deactivated!! So be careful.

I and my wife had appointments in March and I was trying the reschedule link continuously (even after the announcement that new visa appointments are available), but all the dates were shown only after March. So I cancelled the appointment and created the whole thing again. I saw about 3 dates available in October, almost full November and full December. I booked December as thats when its convenient for myself.

          Good Luck :-D.

            Forgot to mention..

that my visa appointment is for "English". If its anything other than English, apoointments are available only after December (as of now).

              Hi,

i already had cancelled the old reciept , now i booked the appointment with the new receipt and new bar code number.. so if i see a date for early november and want to book.. can i cancel this and will i be able to book a new one?? .. so you are saying it doesnt allow rescheduling, the dates wont show for them.. but u can cancel and do it fresh, then the early dates will come up?? please tell me, as i am taking a big risk.. i am cancelling the current appointment which is going to be for nov 29th.. if i loose this and the early date which the system is showing, i will be loosing date big time!

              thanks,

                I repeat

If you are booking for any language other than "English", then there are no appointments available before December.

Also, if you have already cancelled once, then don't cancel it again as you are risking receipt deactivation for 90 days!!

So if your choice of language is English, you can cancel once and try booking again. Before that, I'd suggest you check available appointments once just in case. For me its showing 4 dates in October and more than 15 dates in November as of now (i.e 12 AM Indian standard time).

                All the best!

                  One more thing

Just one more thing. My appointment is in Chennai Consulate. So I am not sure for the other consulates.

                      Thanks all of you!

i did take new reciept from the vfs. so this is the first time i am going to be cancelling with the new reciept and new barcode.. yes i do know there are no dates available in november.. but sometimes wheni check, the date is sown.. all this time i was thinking it was a bug , because this date was not shown wheni was loging inn to reschedule appointment. now i know that it it will showup when i can cancel it.. so i want to take this risk..

all i want to know is... this is new reciept that i booked the appointment with and never have i rescheduled or cancelled with this new receipt.. so canni go ahead and do it?? is i see the dates before nov 29th!

                      help is greatly appreciated!

                      Thanks!

                        Hello All,

I was able to cancel the appointment and fill out a fresh DS156 and 157 and then saved application. For my luck i saw the date for nov 17th and I jumped into it..

One good advice, if you want to do it all over again, just cancel and save application.. book the date when u see it available.. in my case i was desperately looking for dates in NOV. and i got it!!

Thanks for all the help guys! and Good Luck to you all!

                        cheers,

                        Jiggypav
