Can some please guide me !!!!!

My father-in-law has applied for Tourist Visa from India & has got his appointment date next week his interview is schedule. I just need to ask if I need to provide him anything from myside - like an invitation letter or any kind of letter from me to him to show that he will be staying with us at our place.
PLEASE SUGGEST HOW IMPORTANT AN INVITATION LETTER WILL DO IN MY CASE OR
IF MY FATHER PROVIDE HIM ANY KIND OF INFORMAL LETTER STATING THAT HE IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO STAY IN OUR HOUSE .

He will be asked where he will be staying and who will be paying for the trip.
If he is showing his own money and if he will be staying with you then your
spouse must send an invitation letter on a printed letterhead for him.
Addressed to The consular, US embassy/consulate, India.
I am in US since------(date) on a-------(visa) and I'd like to invite my father for a short visit of -------(months) to US during which he will be visiting us and touring US. I'd request you to grant him a visitor visa.
He will be responsible for all his expenses during the trip.

If you are paying for his trip, you will have to send an I-134 , affidavit of
support. If he is paying himself, then there is no need.
Your spouse should send a copy of the passport and visa and if possible, a birth certificate showing father's name and establishing relationship with the father.

My fiancee is in India still .

Hi,
First of all thanks for ur quick reply.
But we are just engaged & that's my fiancee's father.
On October 5th 2006 only my fiancee got approved for his K-1 visa.
His father wants to accompany him because we will be having our court marriage here in any US court house.So his father also wants to be a part of it.
What would you suggest now.

You can send an invitation letter with the format changed;

I,---- , a US citizen and a fiancee of ------. who has been approved for a K-1 visa wish to invite my to-be-FIL to attend our civil marriage ceremony to be held in the US on------- . Please grant him a visitor visa to attend the ceremony.

Your to-be-FIL should carry his son's approved K-1 visa, a copy of YOUR passport and his son's original birth certificate showing your FIL's name to establish their relationship.

Other important points for your FIL;
1. Request a short stay of 2-3 weeks. Reason; I just wish to be
present for the ceremony and then I have to take care of my job/business in India.

2.He should show important ties to India; like a job or a business
and other children if any.

3.He should show a healthy financial picture so the consular believes he will be able to afford the trip.
