Name mispelled on DS-156

Atlast I got date available for booking appointment for my parents on B2 visit visa. Unfortunately, I mispelled my moms name as chandra on DS-156 application(chandhra in passport). And appoinment is on last week of nov2006.
Is there any way I can change application form? And resubmit on the day of appoinment?
Or is it once filled and its final?

Although it is possible to go back into the VFS system, retreive the DS-156 form, correct it and then print it again you should not do this as it is not possible to modify boxes 1-14 of the form. So, all you do is correct the completed and printed form by pen, making sure you cross out the previous spelling and put in the new one to match the passport. (Always be sure the name on the form is the same as in the passport. This is very important.)

When your mother and father come for their interview they can explain to the Embassy/Consulate staff the simple mistake and a staff member will correct your parent's electronic record in a second. It's that simple. No fuss will be made.

Thanks so much for the info, I was really worried as I dnt see any more dates available in chennai even if I want reschedule.

Also I have one more question, my last name and my parents last name are spelled differently
For example my last name is Chandra as in passport.
But my parents last name is with Chandhra. Do you think any problem at US embassy?

It does not matter if you have a different surname. Think about some married women; they take their husband's name and this means they don't have the same surname as their parents. Just make sure you use your surname consistenly and your parents use their surname consistenly. There will be no problems at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate.
