Second appointment (mumbai) one new receipt anyone?

My parents have December appointment at Mumbai consulate. The appointment was taken in person and hence cannot be rescheduled online.

Can I get new HDFC receipts for my parents and book new early appointments? After and If I get early appointments, I will cancel the old one.

Anyone know if this will work or has anyone done this? Any impact on visa decision during interview?
