Hello, i wanted to know whether you can apply for a student visa for a 6 month course in Culinary Arts ?
There are 2 diploma course of 6 months & 11 months that i am interested .Can you go on a B2 visa and enroll for the course and change status in the US ?
I had visited the US on a B2 visa and had come back on time.My sister is a Green Card holder and my brother-in-law is a US citizen.

I suggest you go on your existing B2 and change status in US to student visa. Be careful, do not say to the inspector at entry that you have come to study and change status. Just tell him, you are here to visit your family.
If you apply outside US, there is always a risk of denial under sec214(b)--
(immigrant intent).

Will the INS give student visa for a 6 month or 11 months course ? Is there specific Institute and Colleges for which INS allows student visa ?Where would i get the information on what institutes are recognised by the INS for student visa?
