  • Parents visa got rejected once!

    Hi all,

My parent's visa got rejected in May this year. The reason for rejection was that I did not send them my h1 visa papers, we had only sent them my husbands papers thinking that he will be the one sponsering them, so they do not need my papers. An also I came to US on H4 and I hadnt been back to India after I got my H1, so my passport dint have a H1 stamping on it.

When my parents went to the officer, the first question he asked was, what does your daughter do in US. My parents said I was working, (we had told them to tell like that, and we also mentioned in the application that I was partially dependent since I am working). So he asked for my pasport copy, and saw that it only had h4. So he asked them how can she work with out a work permit. My parents couldnt answer him properly for this, they got tensed, they dint tell him that I was working on a valid h1 visa, but they dont have the papers with them, and that they can get the papers if he gives them another date or something to that extent. Instead, my dad got tensed, dint know much about the h1 not being stamped on the passport and other details, so he simply said my son-in-law is working on H1, and dint mention nothin about my visa. So the officer got suspicious and itseems (as per my dad said), he mumbled something like, that I was working illeagaly. And thats it, he dint ask them for any other documents or nothing else, just rejected their visa and sent them back.

Then I took another appointment in May itself, and got the date for Nov 28th. Now I am sending all kinds of documents that we can think of. I am now concerned, what will happen now. Recently I had been to India, so my passport now has a h1 stamping. In May, the officer never got to my parents details. Thats what is concerning me. What reason will they find now to reject the visa for the second time.

My dad runs a private school. He had been running it for past 27 years. They dont have much of property to show to the officer. I have a younger sister who lives with them.

Could any one advice me of all the things that you can think of so that my parents will have a higher chance of getting a visa. I know their is always a possibility of rejection for everyone. But if some body can help with all the things humanly possible to be prepared for getting a visa after a rejection, I would be eternally greatful.

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Nitu
