duration of stay in visitor visa

My parents are applying for Visitor Visa. Since my father is working, he is getting leave of one month only, but my mother plans to stay more. And in the D-156, d-157 they have mentioned that they intend to stay for 6months so that a visa can be obtained for 6months.
Do you think this might create problem during the interview?
