My parents got visa

my parents got visitors visa on Nov 9. their interview was scheduled at 8:30 am and they were asked only few questions
1. where is ur son working
2. what is he
3. where is you daughter
and ur visa is aproved

we also got a bonus. us nonimmigrant visa fee was waived since Nov 8.

My parents also visited on the same day..they got the visa..they didnt take the visa fee also the PHOTO..I am worried why they have not collected the photo..They took only the passport..Any idea..Is the same case for your parents also...

visa issuance fee waived for visitor visas

i contacted the consulate the same day. they said that the visa issuance fee for non immegrant has been waived since Nov 08. i also checked the website and learned that, that info is true. below is summary from the VFS website ....

<<<<Elimination of Issuance Fee

November 08, 2006

With effect from 8th November,2006 the U.S. Department of State has eliminated the Reciprocity fee for all Indian Nationals applying for a non immigrant US visa.

Thus, Indian passport holders will no longer be required to submit an Issuance fee demand draft for $50 at the time of the visa interview. Holders of Indian Certificates of Identity or Bhutanese passports, continue not owe any reciprocity fee.

However, the FPD fee for $500 paid by Blanket L1 visa applicants would still be applicable and will continue to be paid by demand draft at the time of the interview. >>>>>>>>>>.
