When she apply for passport how can she change he surname according to my passport..And then my birth certificate will be a problem ..right? Is she needed my birth certificate in counsulate??

or can I change my mother's name in my passport in US or India?
    Thanks in advance

    How different are the names?

Your birth certificate is need for her visitors visa.

Any name changes for her would have to be done in India.

      Re:

Actually my mothers name in passport is padmakurup its a one word eventhough i wrote it as padma kurup in my passport application...so she has no surname in my passport. But her name in her SSLC book and ration card is Padma Kumari S. If she change her name in gessate as padmakurup(one word),in her passpost there may not be any surname for her(that will be again a problem)..bcoz it will come like "fnu padmakurup" and if she change her name again how can i change her name in birth certificate??
I am really worried about this...Please tell me if there is any solution to this...

You don't need to make any changes anywhere.

Just write her name has per her passport in the visa forms.
And in the visa forms, write other names in the column 'Other names used'.

I think you should put 'Padma Kurup' wherever possible. 'Padma' can be first name and 'Kurup' can be last name.

          Hi,
It wont be a problem. In my case My father's first and middle names are merged into a single word in the passport. My documents its separated. No need of any more details. Just Take the name in passport and print it in DS-156 form.

          Rgds,
          Vtam.

            Thanks

Thank you for your informations....I was worried about all these name problems..Now i guess I can apply for my mother's passport as per her official name..And can write the other surname in the "other surnames" column in the VISA application form...
Thanks once more for this info...
