Hello all,
I really thank this website.. I have been tracking the experiences and info shared on this forum since 4 months. Almost everyday I used to read them. I gathered so much knowledge and prepared my mom for the visa this time and she got 10 yrs mutiple entry.
THis was the actualy story... ( all the attempts were at chennai consulate)
First attempt was made in may 2005.. she told VO that I am pregnant out of nervousness.. I was planning to concieve but had not yet. This made them really mad.. they rejected the visa.
Second attempt, after 4 months tried to get visa through my dad, dad visited US on conference and she took his supporting documents.. they rejected her visa again. Dads bank was the sponsorer
Third attempt, we sent a letter showing the ties in INdia, saying I have 2 brothers, and property. she was asked , if she has any grandchildren.. she said no. VO said she is not satisfied with the answers. My husband was sponsoring
final attempt, yday at 7.30 Am. everybody in the forum said things have changed and they have relaxed the norms. Dont know how true.. but my mom was not asked any questions reg previous rejections. My husband is the sponsorer
This time we asked her to take family pictures of her 9 sisters and brothers and also tell that my dad is not accompanying her. She is coming only for 3 months. And also my dad retired this june and they moved to a farm house. and he has to take care of them.
Both transalator (kannada) and the VO saw all the photographs.. asked , who is who? and asked who are all in US? my mom said only daughter is in US. no one else, both bros are in India well settled. And my dad is not accompanying her.. she stresed on this. they asked for the sponsorers documents.. went through everything carefully. Vo himself turned from the computer and said she has been given multiple visa and she can stay upto 6 months.
My mom burst out with tears immediately and said Thank you!
Reason she cried was.. Now I am 9 months pregnant.. anytime due.. need my mom the most now than ever.. and My mom is coming next week.

Sub: Request to grant a tourist visa.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to visit USA for tourism and to also see my daughter and son-in-law. I am writing this letter to convince you of my return before the expiration of the authorized stay. The following are the compelling reasons for me to come back before the expiration of authorized stay.
1. My husband got retired in June and we have bought agricultural lands in the outskirts of Bangalore, which my husband and I are taking care presently. I will have to come back in about 3 months before the next sowing season starts. This property is completely managed by us. I have enclosed copies of property documents for your reference.
2. Two of our sons and a daughter in law live with us and I completely take care of the household since they all go to work.
3. We have a house built near the farm in Bangalore and we need to be present here to manage this property. The copies of this property document are enclosed for your reference.
4. I have 9 sisters and 5 brothers living in the city and some of them in the village where we live currently. I will not be able to leave my surroundings and the life I am used to for a long period of time. I am traveling alone and I need to come back and help my husband with the harvesting.
I hereby assure you that I am definitely not a potential immigrant. I just want to visit USA for a short vacation to see Virginia, DC and New York City. During my visit, I will stay with my daughter and son-in-law. They will bear all my expenses including the round trip air fare to USA, food, housing, travel within USA, medical insurance and all other personal expenses. All the supporting documents for this purpose are enclosed for your kind reference.
I promise that I will leave United States before the expiration of authorized stay. Kindly consider my request.
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,
