  • Urgent: Visa interview date 6 months before actual travel date

    Hi,

I have two queries. My parents are planning to visit my sister (who is a US citizen) in the time frame of May - June. However there Visa date is on 27th November (which is approx 6 months before the actual travel date)

    1) Will taking the visa date, 6 months prior to the actual travel date, work against them in the interview? Should they change there time frame to March, April and if needed extend the visa later ??

    2) My father would be getting retired in early 2007. Should he mention this during his interview. Also as he is a government employee should he get NOC and leave approval for next year may - june period(the question is he will be retired by then).

Please reply back to the queries, I would be very thankful

It may not be a good idea to have interview so much in advance. What if they get only 6 months visa? Visa would expire before they are ready to travel.

Regarding father's employment, he should the documents according whatever his current status is.
