Visit visa question

My brother is going to apply for visit visa. He is planning to come here only in April. If he gets a visa for 3 months, would that mean he has to arrive here in the next three months. Does a 3 months visit visa expire 3 months after it is approved or is there a different date of expiration

Interesting question.

Well the visa stamp means that your brother can enter USA any time between the dates on the stamp.

When he arrives here he will be given an I-94 that will be given a date till which he can stay which can be anything from 2 days to 6 months.

So the date that is on the passport stamp tells you when to arrive by and the date on I-94 the one to leave by.
