  • Mother B2 Visa rejected 3 times - need help

Hello, Thanks a lot for the Immihelp for the support on the documentation.
But unfortunately my mother[ widow] had been rejected 3 times before for tourist Visa. My brother had sponsored her for all the previous 3 times of Visa interview. The possible reason for rejection might be, my mother is a 'Widow'.
My cousin sister who also lives in California is interested to sponsor my mother now. I have couple questions in this regard.
1] is it a good idea to change the sponsor after 3 failed attempts???
2] What are the chances of getting Tourist Visa if my cousin is sponsoring??
3] My cousin parents are also having a Tourist Visa interview in second week of Jan- Is it good idea if we can send my mother also on the same date, my cousin as a sponsor.
FYI: My mother last unsuccessful interview was in the last week of Nov-06

Please share with me if you have any ideas.

NO, not advised. Please excuse me for being blunt, but you should give it a thought before re-applying blindly. With every denial, the chances come down even more. Change of sponsor will not make any difference because the reason for denial must be lack of ties to India.

    Please provide some more details about your mom's circumstances;
How many children does she have? How many in India and how many in US?
Their ages, marital status, visa status.
What does she do in India? What is her financial status in INdia?
And in brief what were the main Qs she was asked during the last 3 interviews.

Hi Peace, Thanks for your patience in reading all my questions and for quick reply.
Here is some info abt my family. 4 sons.
Elder son age 32 in US on H-1, 2 small kids
second son 29,Govt employee and married and staying with my mother only. 1 kid
Third son in HYD,27 working as Consultant - Unmarried
Last one working and studying in Hyd, age 23, unmarried
My grand mother aged 68 also lives with my mother. main source of income for my mother is widow pension from my father's employment and 3 acres of agri land.

Previously she was asked Q's like why are you going, does your son send money to India, what you do in India. But in her last inter view [ Last weeek Nov]they asked 2 Q's Why are you going to US[She replied], then when did your husband expired. Even when mother said that ' It was 8 yrs since my husband died', VO asked same question again and again 4 times telling that you are not telling the truth.
VO Denied the Visa syaing that 'Next time tell us the correct no of yrs since husband expired and we will give Visa'. [ I am not sure why they asked 4 times same question saying you are not telling the truth]
I don't know why they need to ask just same question 4 times.
[She had some probs with VFS regarding VISA appointment date on that day which I will share in next thread. ]

Well, she has good family ties to India. That does not seem to be the problem. The problem seems to be a discrepancy in the recorded date of death of you dad with the embassy on previous interviews. That is why the guy kept asking about the date again and again because he probably wanted to give her the visa, but could not get the date right.

Don't you have your dad's death certificate? On the next interview, she should show the certificate to the officer, saying that there has been some
misunderstanding about the date on the last interviews, which is why she was denied.

Hi peace ! Thanks again for quick reply. Not only in my case But I see you responding to other queries so quickly. Great work friend.
I was following couple of threads on same topic and Now I have question as to when we should take next appointment?

1]On last interview VO suggested my mom that, " On next interview please tell us the correct answer and we will give you Visa". So I am wondering can we take an appointment again within Dec/Jan if possible and this time carrying the actual death certificate??
I understand that there shdn't be any hurry in going to VO, But as you know the reason for rejection is just the confusion on the date of my father expiry

2]Please correct me if I am wrong here. My understanding is that, no where we did mentioned in DS forms about my fathers yrs of expiry?? How come VO might know about this when we didn't mentioned anywhere about no of yrs since expired???

Please help me with those 2 clarrifications.

1.I guess she could apply early.
2.I do not know how it could have happened. Maybe she said something in
her earlier interviews that contradicted her present statement about the date of death.

              Hi Peace,
Thanks a lot for your patience in answering all my question all through.
Well now we will go ahead and book an earliest appointment for my mom with my brother only as the sponsor and not my cousin.
              Have a nice day
