Self sponsoring in-laws

My parents are in US and my in-laws have their interview date in Jan 2007. I already sponsored my parents and am not sure if i should sponsor my in-laws too. I wont be able to show more than 17000/- dollars in my account. So plan on asking my in-laws to sponsor thier visit.
Is this the right approach.
If they sponsor themselves, what documents should i send from my side?
If they go for the intw and since my parents will be in US at that time, will that be a problem for thier visa.
If someone gone through the same situatioin pls do respond back..

*As discussed in other posts, a self-sponsoring person has a better chance at the visa, provided he/she is showing healthy funds.
*Your wife should send an invitation letter to her parents, addressed to the the visa officer, a copy of her visa, passport and birth certificate with her parents' names on it.
*It won't be a problem if they are spending their own money.


(Some visa officers ask for the birth certificate to make sure the applicants
are actually the parents of the host in US.)
