Unable to attend Visa interview

I have a visa interview(visitors visa) scheduled for my father for 11 dec.Due to health (high fever)reasons he wudnt be able to attend it,and I am unable to cancel it becos of the cancellation policy.That is no cancellation allowed beyond 2 working days prior to visa interview.

My question is what happens in such unfortunate situation to the visa fees and will he be given permission to attend the interview in a next vailable slot?

You can probably get a letter from doctor and show it at the VFS center and they might activate the recepit if they think it is a genuine reason.
