  • Need suggestions on visitor visa

    Hi,

I am trying to call my father to US.He was rejected(214b) twice in Kolkata consulate.
1st time reason was insufficient fund(which i have enough money in my account here)
2nd time reason was my mother was in US at that time.

So, basically my father has retired and have own house, enough money and my other sisters and brother live in India only, but all are married.

So, i am planning to call my father on January 2007, but i think if my father show that he is working and get NOC from job, will that help in getting visa and what are the chances of getting visa.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

*What were the dates he was denied two times?
*When he was refused for lack of funds, did you send him an affidavit of support -form I-134, or did he show his own funds to spend for the trip?
*Is your mother back in INdia?
*Does your dad have any post-retirement occupation currently?
    What?

      need suggestions on visitor's visa

      Answers of u'r questions:

The first date of application of my dad was on March 17th and the 2nd date was on Sep 19th of 2006.

I only supported and i sent I-134 form and showed 4 times bank balance than the requirement. Also my dad shown his property and bank balance too.

The deniel letter said insufficient fund to the applicant(when my dad and mom applied together)
Then my mom applied alone and got for 3 months. While my mom was here, my dad applied again and got rejected(reason is my mom was in US, no family ties).

After my dad's post retirement he got an oppourtunity in a private company on October. So, i just want to know will this help in showing ties in India.(Please note that my mom is in India now).

One more thing, i live in the coldest place(Minneapolis), applying visa for my dad on January will be a problem or not.If the officer ask to my dad that why he is going on the winter time, then what will be the good answer. Please suggest.

      Thanks for u'r questions.I appreciate that.Awaiting u'r reply.

      Thanks again,

Ok. Your dad first made a mistake of applying when your mom was in US.
Another mistake people make is reapplying too quickly. It shows desperation
        and decreases the chances.For your dad, the following tips may work;

        1. Having applied in Sept, he should wait till aug. 07 at least. Jan is too early and it is winter in US. Also, his new job will work as a good tie and since he joined in oct, they will surely ask him, HOW COME YOU ARE GETTING A FEW MONTHS' LEAVE FROM THE JOB YOU JUST JOINED. Applying in aug07, he can say he's been in the job for about 9 months and he is going for about a month or so.
        2. If your dad has good funds, 10-12 lacs or more in all deposits (savings, FDs, bonds, etc) , you need not send any I-134( Just send an invitation letter and copies of your passport and visa). He should tell the officer and on the form DS 156,
that he is spending his own saved money for the trip.
