Visitor visa 221(g)...no response from consulate for two months

Hey guys,

My mother-in-law's visa has been in administrative processing for more than two months now. We did not hear from the consulate yet. We do not even have any confirmation that they have recieved our email with responses to the questions on 221(g).

Since it has been so long, is it a good idea to contact the consulate through email/phone to find out if things are really in processing or if some info is still missing? What do you suggest or what would you do?

Contact them and tell them exactly why you are calling. If they say its still processing, ask them if they have an ETA of when you might hear back from them.

I've had such experiences and calling them and getting someone on top of it was the only way to expedite the process.
