Thanks in advance for all responses
My parents submitted their documents to VFS (Mumbai Consulate) for their upcoming Visa Interview on Dec 21, 2006. When submitting VFS noticed that the handwritten passport number for my dad has a typo and one of the digits does not match that printed (punched) number on the passport.
VFS has made a note on dad's passport copy and my parents are still scheduled for their interview. We had this interview scheduled like 5 months back and they didn't notice this at that time (well neither did we). This is the first time my parents are traveling outside India.
So my question is - Is this discrepancy (clerical mistake) automatic grounds for dismissal of Visa ? What do you advise we should do - go ahead with the interview or cancel the interview and go back to the passport in Bhopal to get it corrected ?
Many Many thanks for your advise
