My parents got the visa in 7th attempt on 12/13/06

Happy to inform that my parents got the visa yesterday 12/13/06 (7 th attempt).
The visa has been rejected last 6 times under 214(b).

The VO asked the following questions.
1. Why do you want to go to USA?
- To visit my son family and visit various places
2. How many childrens you have?
Two. Son in USA and daughter in INDIA and both are married
My dad showed few family pictures.

VO asked my dad about each person in those picture.

3. What is your occupation?
Doing Agriculture
4. How long you are going to stay in USA
3 months

Then VO asked my dad to show all the documents that he was holding in his hand and he looked at all the documents and said, I am granting the visa for you and your wife.

Enjoy your trip.

This time, I deposited few lakhs on my dad accout two month ago and also maintained good balance in my account as well. I am not sure if that helped.

My parents took the previous interview on Feb 7th 2006.
The last interview was Dec 13th 2006.

Did your parents apply together all 6 times? My parents have been rejected 3 times and this 4th time, only my father is applying?

Can you give me some tips for the visa interview that your parents experienced from?

My sincere congratulations to you and your parents. From this I can make out that you had decided to fight till the end.
Unlike in my case .... my parents visa has been rejected 2 times and we have stopped applying.

Applied together and mom applied seperately one time

My parents applied 3 times together and its been rejected.
4th time, my mom applied alone and rejected with out looking at the documents at all. Then they started applying together and finally they got the visa in 7th attempt together (actually its 8th attempt for my mom )

One of my friend parents visa was rejected few times and they went through one agency in chennai and the agency prepared all the documents for them and they got the visa last time.

This time, my dad did the same thing. He went through the same agency, they prepared everything for my parents including the affidavit and highlighting all the tie up in india etc. They done a great job.

I don;t know if that made any difference.

My parents got their visa yesterday and the officer asked my dad about his pension details. My dad had gotten a letter from the bank manager saying that he is getting X amount as pension and also my dad showed the pension letter from the government. Hope this helps

and my parents interview time was at 3:45 pm and they were out by 5:00 pm and also they said the officer was very kind.

Looks like they have loosened up the B1/B2 Visitors visa a bit and last i heard was 6 approvals (10 yrs multi entry) and 1 rejection

Congrats on ur parents visa. Did they apply in Chennai? My parents visa was rejected thrice in Chennai (#1arents together, #2=only mother, #3=only mother), the reason I being the only daughter. It was really depressing.

I really dont know how to proceed now. I am on a H1 visa and my husband is on F1. He is doing his Phd. I sponsored all three times.Can you give me some idea/suggestions?

My parents visitor visa got rejected 5 times. My father and mother went in first 4 times and 5th time my mother only went. I and my brother are in usa. we two only the children to them. I am planning to take appointment for my parents again in next month.
