  • I'm gonna mail the I-94 back to CIS tmr. Can i still go to the States on jan?

the airport check-in representative did not remove my I-94 form when I left the states on Feb. and i didn't know i should return the form since it was my first time travelling to the states. My I-94 indicated that i'm authorized to stay in the states till aug. 10. Altho i had left on feb. I just realized this problem just now. I'm gonna mail the I-94 along with explanation letter and other evidencesto the CIS office tmr. however, since it's the x'mas mailing peak time. Even i mail it by express. I dunno if they can receive it by the end of this month. and I dunno how long it will take to process the correction on my record. I'm planning to go to the states on Jan. 3. Actually i've already paid for the round trip tickets and the hotels. I dunno if they can correct the record by that. I'm so worried now. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to process the correction? please help! =(

It is exremely important that you keep a copy of your I94 before mailing it and show it to the officer at entry with proof of your date of daprture from US; boarding pass, a copy of your ticket you travelled on or an Indian arrival stamp on your passport.
You should show it in case there is a problem. There have been reports of
people being let in without any questioning even after they failed to deposit their I94s on their last visit.

thank you so much for your help peace~

since i've left u.s on feb. I have already thrown the boarding pass away. because that was so long ago and i wouldn't expect i would need to use it again. But i have the entry stamps from canada and hong kong. Another problem i'm facing is my B2 visitor visa's expiring on jan 18. and my next visa interview will be on jan 16. However, I have already paid for a trip to hawaii from jan 3 to jan 8. Since my school starts again on jan 8, and my visa interview will be on jan 16. I won't stay in the states beyong the expire date. Would they still let me enter the states?

I did not understand what the problem is if you are coming back before the expiry of your visa. Anyway, you can stay in US before the expiry date on the I-94, even if your visa expires.

Another thing I wanted to inform you was to read this page
before sending your I94. Send it to the correct address and with the correct documents.
