  • parents got visa rejected, don't understand why??!!

    Hello everybody,
my parents visa got rejected to day at chennai consulate(telugu). :-(
I really can't understnad what went wrong, please help us through this and let us know how we can proceed for the next interview.
Here is the question the VO asked, we are 2 daughters living in Us, younger brothr still studying.
My mother is the director of a college, my father is a principal and still has 7 years of service.
Vo: How many children do you have?
    DAD: 2 daugheters,1son

    v: Where are they?
D:daughetrs in Us at these states, son here still studying.

    v:What are you doing?
    D:Prinicipal for a GOVT.college.

v:When are you planning to visit and stay time?
D:apr 2007, and return by july

    v:Who is sponsoring you?
    d:My son-in-law

    v:show me the sponser documents?
d:Showed and he looked at th pay stubs and asked mydad why he changed companies? (he changed 2 companies and working in the third since this august.)
My dad said, due to projects(he is a software programmer)
    That's it!!!!
They said your visa got rejected and try next time.
They passed us 214(b) form. I thought 214 is only for ties, isn't it?
We showed a bank balance of 12000$ .

What's wrong?and how can we proceed ?Please help friends.

Dont worry. Try again. you will get it. VOs are always looking for reasons to reject the Visa rather than to approve it.

Being principal to GOVT college, your dad should not have told he is going to stay here for 3 months though he plans to stay here for 3 months.
he shoul have told around 1 month.

And anohter thing, if you are on H1 or GC , then you can sponsor your parents . Because they look at how closer the relationship is.

    All the best

    Regards
    Senthil

      The reason is sponsorhip.
If you are a college director and a principal, you should be able to afford that trip yourself. Instead you are showing financial support from your son-in-law. Also, the son-in-law has an unstable employment record.
The officers construe any such inconsistency as immigrant potential
      and apply 214b.

*Next time, parents should show that they are spending their own money for the trip. They should get a good CA to list all their liquid and fixed assets on the CA's letter head and have him attest it. They should take originals of tax returns , salary slip, and savings a/c to show that they can afford the trip. One of the daughters should only send an invitation letter ; DO NOT SEND ANY I-134. If asked , why they showed financial sponsorhsip last time, the answer should be" we mistakenly thought sponsorship was mandatory".

      * Wait for some time. Apply in March. It will be better if one of them applies first(mom) and the other one waits till she has made a trip.

really....all of these tricks have been tried before.
And lying to the consuls will result in an even faster denial....
'tell them one month [when you really mean 3]" is lying...period....and if his face gives away the lie, well, that is the end of the interview, no matter what bank balance one has nor anything else.
        Tell the truth............
