expired L1 visa..

Hi,

I want to invite my parents on visitor visa to USA. I am on L1 visa which has been expired but I have I-94 and my Petition document valid till Apr 2008. So just wanted to know does expired L1 VISA be a problem ?...do I need to renew my L1 VISA before applying for visitor VISA ?

Hi

It does not matter even if your L1 visa on your passport has expired. You only need to prove to the consulate that you are on legal L1 status. You need to prove that the extension petition was filed before the expiry of I-94. If you have already received your extension approval notice for L1, nothing to worry.

So as my Petition/I 94 are valid as a supporting doc for visitor VISA I don't have t aapply for L1 VISA extension right ?? because my parents will be going back before my Pettition/I 94 got expired..

pl correct my undertanding if I am wrong..
