I got the visitors Visa...Bachelors please read !
Hi freinds..all the bachelors who are applying for Visitors visa might find this useful...I am adding my experience of interview today.
i had my interview today 26/12/06 at US embasy mumbai. I am a bachelor 27 yrs and my parents both US green card holders have filed for my green card. Please go thru the questions. I am goin to sponsor my own trip
Q1 Purpose of visit ?
a1 Family visit and tourism
q2 wht do your parents do in US and where are they based ?
A2 they are retired and are based in ____ state___city
q3 whne did they migrate
A3___this date
q4 Has any 1 filed immigration petition on your behalf?
A4 yes my mom has filed the Green card peition for me.
q5When did your parents marry ?
A5___date
q6 do you have other relatives in US
A6 yes
q7 Wher do you work and whts your salary pa in INR
A7 i said ___thousand. To which officer said please say in "lacs"
I said ___lacs pa
q8 Whts your jpb profile ?
A8___this is my profile
q9 Visa officer said " there is a issue..since both your parents are in US and have filed Green card petition for you and this is non imigrant category you need to convince me how will u return back...as all your close relatives are in US" ?
A9 I calmly said.."sir this is not my first trip abroad. I have been to UK for 6 mnths by my Co. I have been to europe too. I have never over stayed my trips abroad. I respect and am aware of US laws and am not goin to violate any of them. I am pursuing my executive MBA from reputed B School Jamnalal Bajaj which is difficult for an average person to get into. I am also working for premier Investment Bank in India.. This is a sufficient reason for me to come back."
I remained calm and confident during the whole process. The final words were I grant you the visa. you wil recieve a courier in 2 days. Thank you
I happily went back...
Remember key to success is that you need to be confident ..be calm and patient and explain the things to VO. If you didnt understand the question ask him to repeat it for you.
