Correcting DS 156

I need to make changes to the DS 156 Place of Birth columns for both my parents forms as in One I mis-spelled and in another entered the wrong city.

As this is not editable per the website and correcting it with a pen is the only option and taking a copy on the day of interview, What happens if I cancel the application and change it to a later date.

Do we still have to use the same 156 or do we get to change it at that time?

1. once you cancel appointment all the data is lost and you need to redo the whole process.
2. there is a limitation on cancellations
3. there is no guarantee that u wld get same old date once you cancel. (you may get even earlier if you are lucky enough)
so you can decide whether to cancel it and take a new one or follow what site said...

Is it the same as rescheduling the appointment. Can you confirm if we need to fill the applications from the begining even when rescheduling to a new date. I guess we need to cancel this first and then reschedule it.

Since this is first time canceling, we will use the same HDFC receipt # and start allover again, Correct me If I am wrong

Based on the current rules, think... reschedule can be done once w/o cancelling appointment and you can cancel max thrice.
