Got the visa for my parents yesterday. Interview was at 3:15 on 3rd, my parents went there an hour early, good thing is they send them inside at 2:45 itself, and they were out of the office at 3:15. Here are the series of questions:
Father : Good afternoon and happy new year madam (VO was a young lady)
VO : good afternoon
VO took 2 minutes to verify everything
VO: who is there in US
F : my son, daughter in law and 10 month daughter
VO: what your son is doing
F: he is a YYYY (designation) at YYYY (company name)
VO seems pleased, may be because mine is a well known company
VO: whats his immigration status
F: he is on H1B and my daughter in law on H4 dependent visa
VO: how many children you have
F : 5
VO : how many are in USA
F: only one, my other children are in india.
VO: so you have 4 daughters
F : no, I have 2 sons and 3 daughters. Other son is married and staying with us. 2 daughters are already married. The last daughter has completed graduation recently.
VO : what are you doing now
F: I am a retired lecturer
VO: what subject you were teaching
F: kannada
VO: kannada? (she probably was not expecting a language or she didn't know about kannada language)
F: kannada, its the language
VO: i see, (she verified something)
VO : how much pension you get per month?
F: xxx
VO: do you own a house?
F : yes
VO: how much its worth?
F: YYYY lakhs (she didn't asked for any documents)
VO: who is sponsoring your trip
F: my son
VO : you will get your passport thru courier in a weeks time, you may go now.
F: thank you madam
Thats it. She never verified even a single document I sent from US, never looked at any of the other documents.
