  • Mother's Visitor Visa

I am going to India to get married. My would be wife is a US citizen. After my marriage, my mother would like to visit us here in US, preferably travel with us. I have read the visa section and I am in the process of compiling all the documentation required.

My mother doesn't speak any English, so we will probably ask for the Punjabi speaking interpreter.

Probably I am underestimating my mom, but just so that she feels comfortable and confident, can my would be wife who is a US citizen, accompany my mother to the VO?

And another reason, After reading bunch of posts, I have an impression that English speaking VO's have a better chances of awarding visa.

    Thanks a ton,
    Ary

Usually most consulates do not allow anyone else to accompany the applicants, you would have to check on that with your consulate. As for the language thing - that is completely not true, both my parents don't speak a word of English (I am a permanent resident, my hubby a USC) and they both have 10 year multiple entry visas. All that matters is that your mom can show that she has the intent to return to her home country, despite her speaking or not speaking that language
