H1B Visa expiring in Passport

Hi:

My mom has a visiting visa appointment in Chennai on March 7, 2007.
My visa in the passport is expiring on Feb 27, 2006. My company already applied for H1B extension for another 3 years and I am expecting a new I-797A (H1B extension) document very soon.

My question is do I need to get my passport stamped with the new I-797? or is it OK if I just send the new I-797 (H1 B extended till another 3 years) .

There is no need.

As long as you can show the proof of your current legal status in the US, you are fine.
